Quelques éternuments plus tard et c'était rendu 5-0...and that's the game folks.

Keep on dropping the gloves kids, it's part of the game!!!

  1. We need a player like Boutet, but as you say, not at that price. We are going nowhere this season, so why give up some of the future? Of course, Groulx makes such bad draft choices that maybe this is actually the best thing for him to do with them!!

Even the people who never criticize are starting to complain about Groulx, at least Groulx as GM. He has done a very bad job this season. The Chicoutimi trade was a disaster, all the Sags did was unload their garbage on us and then laugh all the way to the third round of the playoffs.

But it must be noted that Groulx is GM as well as coach because team ownership hired him to do both jobs. So, ownership has got to take some of the blame for this... and ss long as ownership does not relieve Groulx of his GM duties, ownership will have to continue to take some of the blame.

I am in my seventh year as a season's ticket holder, and it is the worst year I have seen by far. For those who have been around this team much longer than I have, have you ever seen a worse season?

  2. I just looked at the summary from the game. Seems Chickencrap Chapman got tossed from the game for checking from behind at the same time as one of the Rimouski players got a fighting major, but no Olympique got a fighting penalty. So, did the guy jump Chickencrap for his check from behind and then did Chickencrap refuse to fight?

Hard to tell, but notice that Chickencrap gets up and skates away with the gloves still on and his stick still in his hand... clearly he refused to fight.

I now rest my case about this chickenshit punk coward puke...

  4. Grundy jumped Chappy right after his his from behind...he never had a chance to drop the gloves Stooy!!! Grundy did what he had to do....this was not a fight....simply a pounding of a guy who deserved to be addressed for what he did!!!

The funny part about this trade his that Le Droit and Groulx-rie keep on saying that Bourret is good and that everything around him his fine, everyone was happy when Carrier came back because he played with Bourret at he beggining of the season....a few days go by...more losses....and what do we have....a trade for a 20 year old defenceman (Boutet)...this could not make less sense if you ask me!!!

Groulx never does what he says...every time he speaks he ends up deeper into a world of disbelief that we never see the end....and every time he trades or picks up the phone our franchise gets weaker!!!

I was afraid of this guy trading for us this season, again.....and again....we're in trouble!!!

Here's a bloody question....we got 3 defencemen from Chicoutimi last season...plus Boily from Qc for a 4th rd pick and Langlois and Abbot from who cares land at the beggining of year....why in pete's heaven are we still looking for defenemen???? Specially when our attack sucks balls!!!!!!

  6. I agree about Groulx, he is dreaming and not being honest. He must know in his own mind that his rebuild has been a disaster. And yes, one would think we would have enough on defence after the trade with Chicoutimi, and that we could go after some help up front. Ownership knows what is going on, but they will not admit it. As you noted, they use JFP to lie for them and act like the problems are anything but what they really are. I do not believe this will ever get much better with Groulx as GM.

Is there any possibility that ownership will ask Groulx to step aside as GM and just be the coach?

  7. I will also say that the people I talk to at the games, and one or two fans I see on Bank Street near where I work all agree that Groulx has not done the job as GM and that it might be best that he only coach the team. I have heard people say they will not come back next year if this situation does not improve. A lot of people are really getting upset over this season. And so they should. I have said before the old coaches saying... "you can excuse a lack of talent but not a lack of effort." And with this team, the effort is simply not there. I have said lots of times this season that heads have go to roll. Well, none have rolled yet and if they don't then the team will be losing more and more fans. This is sad, and I do hope that things turn around, but right now it is difficult to be optimistic with Groulx making the moves.

    @Stooy

I'm not going to start ranting on Groulx at 4 in the morning LOL...but I will say this....I did see it coming a long time ago. This was easy to figure out....your giving GM duties and power to a gentlemen who has a hard getting along with anyone...how the hell was he suppose to fit in a picture where he would run both sides of the stick?!?!?

I'll say this much....get me Steeves in net, give a few games to Boutet to settle down...let's get a few injured bodies back in the line-up, get me a real 20 year old forward who can put the puck in the net or at least hit everyone that moves....and let's play the dam game!!!

I'm a big believer that out biggest problem is still goaltenting...this is killing us 2 nights out of 3!!!

They will never change anything about Groulx's duties, he signed in both positions for 7 years.....3 down....4 to go...!!!

  9. Yes, if we get good goaltending, our injured players back, and some other improvements we have a chance to rise all the way up to the middle of the pack IF the work ethic picks up, IF they backcheck, IF they stop taking so many dumb penalties...

I ran into another fan today on Sparks Street as I walked in to work... he has been to one game this season and will not go back until things improve.

Four more years of this will kill the team forever. I do not believe Groulx will last out this contract as GM unless things quickly turn around. I still say some heads have got to roll, and most of us know which dope smoking, beer drinking heads we are talking about.

  10. If Groulx doesn't stay has GM he will be replaced by someone who will do the job for free...you know who that is right??? Sears and his commitee...we're way too cheap to go an hire someone else!!!

Basicly we're FU%$#& which way or another as for the GM position...weather it's Groulx or Sears things would be the exact same...the only thing this would do is give more time to Groulx to concentrate on his real job...which is to coach the dam team!!! Then again how "not involded" would Groulx be if Sear would be the GM?!?!

Watch us get our lunch handed to us in Drummond tonight!!!

  11. I think the best thing now would be for us to get our lunch handed to us game after game to force ownership to act. If we manage to win a few and lose a few nothing will change. Attendance will continue to go down until ownership changes or the team leaves town. This once great franchise is in a terrible state now. In the final analysis ownership is to blame. Sear is the one who hired Groulx to do a job he has proven incabable of performing. If Groulx continues, or as you suggest, if Sear pretends to do the job while Groulx really does it, this organization will die a slow death. Hull fans are so used to winning that they will not accept anything else. Last year was fine, the fans understand that you need a rebuild year, but not this year, not next and not the year after that. More and more fans are walking away every game. The loud music, the retirememnts, the gimmicks, all that crap does not help, in fact some of it hurts even more if you ask me. This team needs to win or else, and Groulx had better put a winner on the ice before it is too late. Some people have said that this owner cannot really afford the necessary costs, and if this is so, we have a very serious problem. What is obviously needed is a better scouting staff and a real GM, and these things will cost money. Groulx is overpaid for sure, and as coach only would not deserve as much. In another year or two, if this keeps up, there may be so few fans that the team has to leave town or fold.

  12. HFL I predicted 2 wins for this weekend. We just won against Drummond.

  13. IL y avait du positif hier a Drummond for sure....mais il y a encore bcp trop de négatif pour crier "hoora"...and a shoot-out win is not a win in my book....sorry my friend....especially if you blow it late in the game after missing a power-play....on the other hand....beating sherbrooke for the 100th time this season won't put a smile on my face either!!!

Let's see what we can do against BC on wednesday...and Rouyn next sunday!!!

  14. I did not see the games, so I cannot comment intelligently (as if I ever could), but a tie in Drummondville is not bad, and a tie in Sherbrooke is not what we were hoping for. And yes, when you get a tie it is nice to win the dumb coin toss for the extra point. I am not ready to expect a President's Cup just yet. As Hull4life notes, let us wait and see how we do over these next three home games, two of which are against good clubs. Things are looking a little better for sure, but again, it is too soon to break out the champagne.

  15. I heard on the radio last evening that Yannick Dube was in the hospital with a serious medical problem. Then on the Olympiques Forum a post was put up. BUT I can find nothing about this on the Olympiques website, or on the mobile app I have on my phone. This astonishes me. I have commented in the past about the total lack of class of current Olympiques management, but this is well beyond a lack of class. It borders on being inhuman. What kind of sick organization would not make note of this and express prayers and best wishes?

I have read others suggesting that current ownership does not have enough money to run the team. Maybe, maybe not, but more than money is needed, and management seems to me to be grossly lacking in any form of decency at all.

I can accept bad hockey, at least we get to see the good teams that come into our building, but this is too much for me to take. I guarantee you that if this disgusting management pattern continues that I will not be back next season.

I am almost at a loss for words here. One of our kids suffers a medical problem that often kills people, and NO public mention from the team????

    Shame.

  16. STOOY, you are driving me nuts with your theories again. Read the paper today, there's an article about Dubé. The article also mentions that the Dubé's family requested that the Olympiques organisation not comment on the situation. This explains why the only info we have is from outside sources. CALM DOWN!
