Match d'ouverture: 2800
Match contre le Phénix : 2200
Match contre Rimouski (vendredi soir) : 2500
Match contre Shawi: 2000

Again, I am not trying to piss anyone off by saying that, but I really wish someone would do something about it...clearly the new arena won't be up anytime soon and this fan base is tired of a few things around our team.  It would be nice to see our team win like they use to....eeeuummmm wait a minute, maybe they did...

Cortese, Kielly, Bibeau and "W" Brassard played for Charlettown tonight and the game finished with a late third period comeback in the ol' Bob Guertin arena just like the good ol" days....still not convince?!?!  Then go ask their Head Coach....Gordie Dwyer what he thinks about it!!!

Keep dropping the gloves kids, it's part of the game!!!

  1. Our power-play has been a disgrace for years, even going back to when we had Giroux, Byron and Pistilli. Even then we have crazy numbers of goals scored against us when we had the man advantage. I cannot explain it, but Groulx is a terrible power-play coach.

In fact, Groulx is a TERRIBLE coach, period. I have had it with this guy. I am going to attack him in the other forum from now on. Last night he made idiotic line changes after Sheppard's DUMB penalty. Groulx did not call a time out?????? This guy has got to go.

We are going to stink until he is gone, and the attendance is as it should be given the calibre of management and coaching we have.

  4. @stooy

I always read what's on the phony-forum just to see what you guys are talking about when your not posting on mine!!!

I can see that Groulx has about 2 fans left...Gryger who couldn't tell the difference about in between a brown noser and a leech and Gatman who's probably on the teams payroll!!!

18$ to see a team practice!!!

Anyone see Saint-Patrick Roy, MY COACH, last night?!?! Anyone heard the crowd reaction to his anticts??!! A crowd has to believe in his team and his coach, gm's....this use to be a given in our case with Charlie Henry in command, we trusted to hire the right coach and make the right moves...this made us believers that we in fact had the best organisation IN SPORTS...raise your hands if you feel the same now days!!! How many of you just smirked right now? Or laughed??

I identified 5 things before the season even started...

1- Martin Reway (the last 2 weeks speak for themselves)
2- Vincent Dunn (his attitude seams to be in full swing and aside from a few nices passes, we're more worried then anything else here)
3- Our young defence (They're not cutting the mustard yet and C-Allard and Berubé are "B" players on there best nights)
4- M-A Brouillard : (He's actually the better of this mix of question marks I had, but he did get suspended for 2 games already)
5- Robert Steeves : (Did he convince us from what we have seen so far, i'll answer for everyone...no...actually Brodeur seams closer to starting more games then a publicity stunt right now, that's saying a lot in my case)

Gatman was talking about teams like Charlettown that sometimes starts the season like mad men to finish exactly where everyone predicted to finish...he gaves the cataractes 2006-07 season has an example, which doesn't stand in my opinion...Shawi we're suppose to have a bad season, I don't see how this islander team should be compared to them...they have a good defence, great goaltending (bibeau) a chemistry or hockey understanding seams to be understood in between both positions and yes they're offence is a the weak link...but we saw last night that they can turn it around quickly aswell. I mentionned in another post that I liked the Islanders this season for 2 reasons, I believe in Gordie Dwyer hockey and the maritime division is sub-par in my opinion. Islanders will finish in the top-2 of the maritime division!!!

Another point should be made that we have seen team's in the past being garanteed great seasons and ended up stinking the joint for multitudes of reasons, who's convince that this won't be our case this season, remember our 2006-07 season, we we're loaded in offence like this year, but even better...after an ok regular season we got canned in the first round in five games against Rouyn!!!

Having said this, leave good guy Gordie Dwyer and his Islanders out of this mix, they still haven't loss in the regular season and we're barely over .500 having played 5 of our first 7 games at home, I guess Guertin is not has scary without HIS BEST PLAYER PLAYING EVERY NIGHT...by that I meen, his 7th !!!

  5. I guess the question is this: how long will management put up with 1800 fans a game before the necessary change, FIRE YOUR DAMN COACH, is made? It used to be impossible for this few, because season's ticket holders always counted whether they show up or not. So, how many do we have left? There must have been some walk-ons last night, so probably we have less than 1700 season's ticket holders. This franchise may be in serious trouble!!

    RépondreSupprimer
  6. We've been having less then 1700 season ticket holders for many years, I think the last time we had over that was the year we won in 2007-08 of the following, the Giroux effect!!!

Forget about Groulx being fired, this will never happen, even i'm not sure it would be a good idea, the guy is not doing a bad job if you take everything and add it all up...the problem is if i can speak for my self here, his mistakes seem to be harder to swallow then his great moves. I personnaly do not like his style of hockey and no non-sense tryouts, like sending a kid from the JAAA on the power play...we have seen this in the past often!!!

Like yesterday, we had Poirier on PK...why the heck would you want your best scorer blocking shots??? People use to crap on Dupont about burning his players, well when we have our tongues to our knees in April don't come telling I didn't warn you about it!!! I believe Poirier should be on the bench resting when we're on the PK...let Lapierre and Coughler who are bought playing well, get more ice time...after all, they are on the team for fore checking and killing penalties!!!

If I can rewind a few months here, I recall us looking like a team in the playoffs even thought Halifax handed us our lunch, none the less we we're doing better then this...I understand we have lots of new players and it's early in the season...but Groulx always has lots of new players!!! I read a few people talking about being patient, I don't believe they understand what we meen here...it has nothing to do with seeing our Piques win hockey games, but everything to do with leaving the Bob with a smile on our faces because we just saw a special hockey game, off course winning wouldn't hurt either!!!

I believe the organisation is not in any kind of rush to change anything right now, because they're waiting for the new arena to be built...somehow they believe this will change everything around!!! What I have been telling them for years his to connect with there actual fan base, specially now that people are clearly deserting the team. The simple and costless things would make a world of difference, we're talking about a junior fan base here...you have the players deliver the season ticket holders tickets from door to door and you just won your most important fans in the matter of an evening!!!

Let's hope we can turn it around before Groulx leaves for team Canada Jr, or is it interesting to see how will the team do without him?

  7. Hi H4L, I just wanted to let you know, I spoke with the Olympiques marketing team recently, they will be looking into having the players deliver the season tickets to the fans next year, they are verifying how to make this happen logistically...also keep in mind that the season tickets are usually ready towards the end of training camp, at the same time that the first exhibition games start...but the team are in favor of doing this and they are working towards doing it.

  8. What do you guys make of Martin Reway publicly being critical of his coach? The way I understand the article, Reway initially says the he tried to play Groulx's junior system but not to the coach's satisfaction. He then says the the team played much better without Groulx's constant yelling on the bench and that the players were more relaxed and not afraid to make a mistake. He also doesn't like the defensive game plan in the third.

Although it's easy for us fans to be critical of Groulx and the organization, it's a really bad sign when one of your star players publicly criticizes the coach and is a healthy scratch the next day. And do Sear and Groulx take us for complete fools by explaining Reway's absence as him simply being sick or tired? Instead of lying, they should just say that's it's an internal issue that will be resolved. Expect Reway to be traded as this cannot go on. Even if they do talk and try to work things out, the damage is done and is irreversible in my opinion. It's too bad that the dressing room is such a mess again because the team had potential. They may still but a lot of players are pissed with Groulx and his sidekick and there are many long faces around the team.

  9. First, Reway was wrong to make such comments publicly. Hockey players need to learn to avoid this. Apparently he has apologized, and hopefully this is the end of it. But it shows that there is dissatisfaction on the team for sure, and Reway is not the only player who feels this way.

Yes, management and coach think we are idiots, they have proven this over and over again.

  10. Well let's ask the team journalist what he thinks about the situation!!! Oh no, nevermind, he's in the pocket of Sear and Groulx so that would lead us nowhere!!!

Patience people, patience.....one day, will find out that Groulx was that GOOD....maybe that's what Gryger means when he says patience!!!

I would like to know how come Reway was that mad anyhow?!?! The guy was back with us for about 24 hours before he lost his mind and made that interview....how horrible his Groulx exactly?!?! Or bad weak of mind his Reway!?!?! Bottom line...it seams that once again, we drafted a guy that doesn't fit with Groulx and our organisazions mentality!!! Next time, let's send Groulx in Europe for scouting...that's a plan that can't miss....right!?!?!

  11. bottom line, why is there so many players leaving the team and playing well elsewhere??? That blows my mind...

  12. What percentage of these many players through the revolving door leave specifically because they tell someone that they will not, or cannot play for Groulx? Is this a regular thing?

  14. We could have the Olympiques team B with our ex players currently in the league and that team would give us a solid opposition.

  15. And that doesn't count all the players who refuse to come to Gatineau under the reign of terror, incompetence and lies,,,

  18. The Olympiques organization has a blind eye and full confidence in Big Ben Groulx, having said this, he's always going to be their go to guy...unless he goes somewhere else, we have another 3 years and half minimum of these type of moves to be made...

If he can start winning and giving us interesting hockey, we could forget about some of these bad moves or useless moves...but until then, we can keep tracking and counting then...Groulx always wants to coach HIS team with HIS type of players...if he can't mold a player to his liking, he will trade him for next to nothing without even thinking twice about it.

I will give him credit for getting a lot of first round draft picks lately, but I don't believe he ends up using them correctly afterwards...adding to that, I don't believe our drafting his up to par either!!!

  19. What a small team we have :(

When I see Deslariers and Berube killing a 5 on 3 PK, I'll say as my buddy said yesterday, "that's a gimmee for the other team." Nice of Dunn to get the extra two. Shut the hell up! And your small 20 year old sniper getting into two fights? Good thing Baie Comeau is struggling also or it would be a romp tomorrow.
